Easy way of playing the Fm Chord
For this one, bar your index finger across the bottom 3 strings on the 1st fret. This would be the Fm chord guitar players tend to learn first.
However, if you want to spice things up, add your ring finger to the 3rd fret of the 4th string.
As far as your picking hand goes, pluck the strings you are pressing with your fretting hand.
Advanced way of playing the Fm Chord
For this one, barre your index finger across all 6 strings on the 1st fret. Add your ring finger to the 3rd fret of the 5th string. Finally, place your pinky on the 3rd fret of the 4th string.
Strum all 6 six strings with your picking hand.
F Minor Chord Guitar practice tips:
- When playing a full F minor bar chord, pick all strings separately to make sure you have pressed them all strong enough.
- When placing your fingers to play this F minor chord, make sure that you are behind the fret wire. Also, barre’s aside, make sure that you are pressing the strings with your fingertips.
